Ethical. We repeated this word in all of our communications during the fashion show, but it means a deeper thing: a new way to think about sustainability. Yes, we are talking about green projects, thinking about the processes into the fashion industry and rethink our consumption model too, but we also are talking about a social transformation.
Sustainability is about something that works for everyone. It’s about be compromised with a purpose, with an ethos to share. With this kept in mind, we can list all sorts of things that we did (and will do) with the brands, the models and all the people involved to create a more sustainable environment.
Dear Ocean: Sustainable practices build the entire business. From biodegradable fabric, printing the label directly on Lycra, not using plastic or paper, to supporting social and environmental organizations in Portugal and Brazil.
Seref: The brand uses dead-stock fabric, never puts textile waste in the bin, uses recyclable paper, swing tags and packaging, is avoid pattern matching to reduce fabric scraps, works with ethically conscious suppliers, works with small businesses, uses organic GOTS certified cotton, prints using water-based inks, supports fare wage pay, only orders the required amount of fabric, no single uses plastic and it’s vegan af - there are no animal products used in their processes.
KF Branding: The brand is focused on the use of recycled materials and minimises waste in the industry, making the fitting of models effective, avoiding excessive disposal, which makes it possible to properly dispose of waste from the textile industry.
